Job summary
The Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor is responsible for assessing client skills, aptitudes, needs and preferences towards facilitating job readiness and employment search.This position provides individual and group vocational counseling, assessments, evaluations, and referrals.Functions as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team, participating in developing vocational goals and objectives for the client's treatment plan.

Responsibilities
• Conduct educational/vocational assessments and evaluate clients' job readiness and job search skills.• Develop vocational/educational goals and objectives for clients and provide necessary activities to help them achieve those goals.• Provide individual and group counseling to help clients make appropriate vocational/employment decisions and maintain employment.• Assist clients in obtaining appropriate identification.• Participate in assessing and maintaining clients' Job Performance Evaluations to improve skill levels for employment.• Prepare reports and statistics on client participation in work-related activities and employment.• Assume staff-on-duty assignments, including observation of urine specimen collection and medication management.• Maintain accurate and complete client records that comply with regulatory standards.• Refer clients to appropriate vocational/educational services in the community.• Provide follow-up and support services to clients post-job placement.• Develop and maintain linkages with community resources for educational, vocational, employment, and support services.
Requirements
• Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) for designated programs.• Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling, or Guidance.• Strong vocational assessment, individual and group vocational/job preparation skills.• Working knowledge of substance abuse treatment modalities and client self-help/support modalities.• Strong writing skills, including the ability to write comprehensive educational/vocational assessments and progress notes.• Flexible schedule availability to respond to participant and staff needs.• Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EMR.• Ability to maintain confidentiality.• Experience working with diverse populations.• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
