We are seeking a Vice President of Data & Analytics, a visionary and strategic leader passionate about leveraging data to foster innovation, operational scale, and growth. This critical role involves working closely with executive and functional leaders to shape and drive the company-wide data strategy, aligning it with our organizational objectives. This is a highly visible role that will inspire and drive transformation and access to data across the organization.
The VP of Data and Analytics reports to the SVP of Information Technology. The role is hybrid requiring 3 days per week in the Scottsdale, AZ HQ. Candidates should reside within commuting distance.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do
Oversee the entire data lifecycle, including data architecture, engineering, operations, governance, reporting, and analytics.
Develop and implement the multi-year architecture and roadmap supporting enterprise data warehousing and analytic needs in a high growth company.
Lead a multifaceted team of data professionals to inform strategic decisions impacting operations, financial management, product/services development, go-to-market (GTM) strategy, and customer experience.
Be a champion and advocate for data management disciplines across business functions. Serve as a change agent, accelerating the adoption of data capabilities and the transformation to a data-driven culture.
Mature data ownership & stewardship awareness. Create data maintenance, cleansing, and validation processes embedded within our business operations to drive quality and trust in our data.
Build trust and credibility across the organization, prioritizing data needs aligned to business value and delivering impactful, engaging, useful data solutions for our business partners.
Integrate operational excellence into the enterprise data ecosystem and analytic lifecycle. Foster an environment of continuous improvement, demonstrating urgency and commitment to excellence.
Strategically deploy a data governance framework.
Align data infrastructure with business needs, ensuring the adoption of advanced technologies for data discovery, intelligent decision support, and analytics.
Actively participate in business and technical discussions to champion best practices and the proactive application of data assets and capabilities to continuously improve our business, including AI, BI, Data Science, and Reporting.
Establish and maintain high data quality standards while managing costs effectively.
Collaborate across departments to enhance data quality, accessibility, security, and policy. Work with legal and compliance teams to build, enforce, and maintain regulatory and security practices to ensure appropriate compliance and governance related to HIPAA, Data Privacy, Data Access, and Data Retention.
Lead by example, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and high performance.
Qualifications
15+ years of experience in Data & Analytics leadership roles, demonstrating increasing complexity, scale, and responsibility.
5+ years of experience optimizing data integration, governance, interoperability, and visualization.
BA/BS Degree in a relevant field.
Teamwork, hands-on skills, and scrappiness required.
Demonstrated ability to effectively deliver in matrixed organizations and to operate with start-up energy and excitement.
Proficiency with myriad data management tools with a strong focus on the modern data stack; Snowflake, Matillion, Glue, DBT, Alation, Tableau, PowerBI.
Understanding of AI/Machine Learning models.
Strong ability to create shared vision and constructively facilitate agreement across a diverse set of stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills. Ability to interact with all levels of customers, as well as technical and non-technical end users and colleagues.
Strong collaborator and relationship builder.
Ability to adapt to new situations, solve problems on the fly, and manage multiple priorities.
