Summary

The Vice President of Insurance Operations is responsible for everything related to the underwriting of risk for the profit center. The position specifically directs the underwriting leader and is responsible for the operations of the underwriting department.
Essential Duties and Functions:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Oversee the production aspects of the various programs operated by the profit center; currently public entity workers comp (IPEP), public entity package (EMC), and emergency management organization coverages (VFIS).
Participate in budgeting and forecasting of annual and interim period production and expense.
Assist in development of new programs as needed.
In lieu of a third Sales Representative in Indiana, the Vice President of Insurance Operations may be called on to act as back-up to the existing sales personnel.
Provide guidance to sales personnel regarding risk selection to maximize overall program profitability and stability.
Interface with the Risk Management and IPEP Claims to ensure the integrity of sales underwriting and claims efforts.
Pursue a course of personal and professional development.
Other job-related projects or assignments as delegated.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Required

BA/BS in insurance or other business-related discipline.
Technologically proficient.
Prior experience in leadership role.
5 years of demonstrated increasing responsibility in a similar position.
Indiana Property & Casualty Producer License.
Preferred

Advanced insurance designation, such as CPCU, CIC, etc.
Physical Requirements Necessary On a Regular Basis

Manual dexterity, arm and upper body range of motion sufficient for use of a keyboard, mouse and telephone 7-8 hours per day.
Speech and hearing sufficient for in-person and telephone communication 7-8 hours per day.
Vision sufficient for use of a computer monitor.
Ability to sit at a desk 7-8 hours per day.
