USGBC's Technology team is seeking a Vice President of IT Enterprise Architecture. This leader will design, mentor, and manage the organization's enterprise IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will attract top-tier talent, deliver innovative, customer-centric solutions, and oversee the architecture team. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), this position is responsible for day-to-day IT architecture projects and engineering, while driving continuous process improvements and operational efficiencies. The role also involves cross-departmental collaboration on key initiatives and platforms.
This position offers the flexibility to be remote, based within the United States.
Specific Responsibilities: Working with the CIO, develop and maintain the enterprise IT architecture vision and strategy, aligning it with business goalsEnsure successful execution of business plans to maximize customer satisfaction, profitability, and market shareDevelop short- and long-term IT portfolio and plans to meet organizational needsCommunicate IT vision, strategy, metrics, annual goals, and success factors to the CIO and other stakeholdersBuild and lead a successful team by recruiting and retaining top IT talent through systematic and unbiased approachesDefine SMART delivery goals in alignment with functional leadsPartner with peers and regional leads to establish strategy and operations plansShare best practices and optimize team performance and productivityManage IT Architecture, Standards, Processes, and Tools by overseeing day to day operations of IT architecture teams to ensure high quality and user satisfactionPlan, design, communicate, and manage IT projects, including tracking and leading system upgrades and replacementsStandardize tools and processes for agile development, estimation, and deploymentMonitor projects for adherence to defined IT architecture processesDevelop and regularly test Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plansImplement and administer critical security controlsManage detailed budgets for capital and operational expenses related to IT architecture effortsEnsure regulatory and audit compliance throughout the IT architecture life cycleDrive for results by setting high performance standards for self and othersDevelop and sustain customer relationships based on understanding customer/stakeholder needsSupport employees and business partners with diverse styles, abilities, motivations, and cultural perspectivesDevelop collaborative relationships with other technical teams, employees, and business partnersEducation & Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, related field, or equivalent work experienceAt least 15+ years of experience in IT architectureAt least 15+ years of experience with enterprise architecture, software architecture, or CRM/ERP development, and Agile practicesAt least 7 years of experience as a team leadProven leadership of a large IT or architecture teamExpert in cloud solutions and applications architecture, especially with AWS/AzureProficiency in project management methodologies, including Kanban, Agile and ScrumDesirable Skills and Qualifications: Proven ability to collaborate with upper management and other IT and business teamsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information to nontechnical audiencesStrong problem solving and time management skills; high attention to detailDetails: Employment Type: Full Time, permanent, salaried, benefits-eligible, exempt statusLocation: Washington D.C.
