Job Summary
The Vice President, Auto Product Management will have full P&L responsibility for the assigned region for all channels (DTC, IA, and Affinity) and brands of National General through integrated product management initiatives. This role is responsible for ensuring the development and execution of integrated product management strategies and management of other Product Management leaders to achieve growth and profit goals while drawing upon the expertise in product, pricing, risk management, compliance and overall knowledge of the business. This role is responsible for improving National Generals consideration by implementing products that are affordable, simple, and connected; implementing processes are simple and lowest costs; and utilizing new and existing data and analytics for decision-making. Oversees the actuarial methodologies and quantitative analysis used to support pricing all products in their region.
Key Responsibilities
Full P&L responsibility for the assigned region.
Implementing product management strategies and initiatives to generate profitable market share growth and supporting the Directors and Product Managers in their reporting group.
Deriving and implementing strategic initiatives including managing, implementing and maintaining state insurance products, key sales and marketing initiatives,
Managing to a Product Management KPI framework that monitors performance of executed price, product, and risk management strategies at the local market level which leads to the continual improvements and achievement of profitable market share growth for all channels of bind.
Overseeing the establishment and delivery of integrated risk management plans that achieve desired growth and profit for the country for all brands of insurance.
Building and nurturing talent within the Product Management career path.
Establishing a successful partnership with sales, claims, IT, legal, policy operations in order to improve the effectiveness of business decisions. Review other departments KPIs and work collaboratively to ensure that all departments reach their goals.
Partnering with and supporting the product management eco-system that promotes utilization of new methodologies and technologies, shifts authority and decision making to the right levels in the organization and enabling state management to be fully responsible for the management and enhancements to the assigned brands/markets.
Motivating, developing and providing leadership to team members; ensuring employees have the appropriate structure, tools, resources, and training required to do their job at the highest levels.
Identifying and analyzing major competitors risk management policy components and implement/modify strategic business plans as warranted.
Reviewing external trends affecting the entire industry and adjusting business plans accordingly.
Establishing timely integration and delivery of planned changes to the marketplace and in accordance to the approved budgets.
Leading directly and partnering with Compliance to establish a good working relationship with Departments of Insurance and eliminating and resolving compliance issues in a timely manner.
Maximizing professional development, personal contribution and performance of employees.
Preferred Qualifications
Education and Experience
10 years of demonstrated increasing levels of responsibility and achievement in leadership roles focused on non-standard auto product management. Ideally includes cross functional.
Functional Skills and Competencies
Strategic Leadership: has holistic and in-depth understanding of National General and industry, uses understanding of competitive position, organizational vision and objectives, and business complexities to develop both short- and long-term strategic direction.
Has established broad leadership credibility and solid track record of results/successful outcomes.
Strengthens implementation of Allstate/National Generals strategy through effective change management, change leadership and communication; proven ability to lead through ambiguity.
Creates and communicates a vision to influence all levels of the organization. Demonstrated mastery of people and thought leadership skills articulated in speaking engagements.
Proven understanding of business landscape and operations, with the ability to interpret and broadly apply understanding of key financial indicators to make effective business decisions.
Executes a sound talent development strategy.
