Venture Capital firm is seeking a VP, Finance to join its executive team.
The VP will play a critical role in shaping our financial strategy and operations as we continue to expand and invest in high-potential ventures.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting and financial management within the venture capital or private equity sectors, demonstrating a deep understanding of fund accounting, investment dynamics and financial oversight at a strategic level.
Job Breakdown: Oversee financial operations, including fund accounting, audits, tax reporting, compliance, and reporting requirements.
Review and approve quarterly financial statements and partner capital schedules for each Fund.
Manage relationship with debt providers to the Funds.
Provide due diligence and general financial support for evaluation of new Fund investments.
Track the performance of all Fund and Syndicate/Angel investments and prepare monthly updated investment tracking schedule to include IRR, TVPI and other relevant metrics.
Manage cash flow, financial planning, and budgeting processes for the Funds and Management entity.
Provide quarterly financial overviews for each of the Moonshots Syndicates and determine quarterly management fee distributions.
Oversee Limited Partner reporting and capital activity including distributions and capital calls.
Implement prime brokerage strategy to allow for distribution of public company equity to limited partners.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including SEC and SBA reporting and financial best practices.
Collaborate with the General Partners to assess financial implications of potential investments and exits.
Lead the finance team, fostering an environment of professional growth and continuous improvement.
Provide financial strategy support to portfolio companies, as requested.
Requirements/Qualifications: 5-8 years of relevant training CPA is preferred Public accounting is preferred Venture capital, private equity, or related financial sector training is required Strong understanding of fund accounting, financial compliance, and reporting requirements in the venture capital context.
Experience managing audits for a venture fund or other alternative investment vehicle.
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate complex financial data into strategic insights.
Proficient in financial software and systems relevant to fund management with Carta fund management experience a plus.
Experience working with SBA investment vehicles is a plus.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
