About the role The VP of Information & Cybersecurity will provide strategic leadership and direction for the company's IT and cybersecurity initiatives. With scope that spans across information technology and the cybersecurity of systems and products, the VP of Information & Cybersecurity will work in partnership with the Head of IT and the Product Cyber team to develop information technology and cybersecurity processes that ensure our operations and product are secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.

Due to the seniority and nature of the position, this role requires an individual with a strong technical background as well as the ability to marry IT & security measures with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience navigating technical decisions and challenges, a deep understanding of DoD security requirements, and a proven track record of managing information security in a high-stakes environment.


What you'll do Build on our current information security strategy, which encompasses both corporate IT systems and product security for autonomous vehicles.Lead and mentor a team of cybersecurity professionals, ensuring alignment of security initiatives with business objectives and regulatory requirements.Establish and enforce information security policies, standards, and procedures based on industry frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework and ISO/IEC 27001.Drive the integration of security into the entire product development lifecycle, from design through deployment and maintenance, adhering to standards such as ISO/SAE 21434 and SAE J3061.Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks across corporate and product environments.Monitor security incidents and lead incident response efforts to minimize impact and ensure compliance with incident reporting requirements.Prepare and deliver regular reports on the state of information security and product security to executive leadership and stakeholders.Establish and drive budgets and KPIs/PPIs to measure our overall effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.What we're looking for Ownership Mentality - We're looking for owners; those who have a natural bias to assume responsibility, identify gaps, and take the initiative to drive the team toward filling them.Technical Aptitude and Intellectual Curiosity - We are a technology company at our core, working at the leading edge of self-driving technology for defense and logistics. A solution-driven approach, the ability to distill complexity into its essential, digestible components, and the ability to supervise execution are critical to ensuring our success.Requirements 7+ years of progressive experience in information security, with a focus on product security in autonomous vehicles or mission critical systems preferred.Strong understanding of cybersecurity technologies, tools, and methodologies, with expertise in applying them to both corporate IT and product security environments.Knowledge of relevant cybersecurity standards and regulations, such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIST SP 800-53, ISO/SAE 21434, and SAE J3061.Experience leading and developing high-performing teams in dynamic, early stage growth environments.Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are highly desirable.US Salary Range
$200,000 - $275,000 annually
The salary range for this role is an estimate and is based on a wide variety of compensation factors. The salary offered to candidates will vary based on a variety of factors including (but not limited to) relevant work experience, education, specialized training, critical expertise, training, and more. Equity in Forterra is included in most of our full-time, high-demand roles and is therefore considered part of Forterra's overall compensation package.
