An enthusiastic, highly motivated candidate is required to lead the Depository Receipt team. This role provides an opportunity to work closely with multiple teams throughout the business, to deliver exceptional service for our clients, ensure our controls environment is robust and provide leadership support to the DR team.
In addition to the daily responsibilities, this individual will be expected to contribute to product initiatives as they arise, understand the impact on revenue / the control environment and contribute towards the continual evolution of the business.
Job Description Summary
Support to SVP and manage daily activities/tasks, planning and organizational design, people skills development, problem solving, quality control and reporting. Motivate and inspire, build relationships, and take the initiative to drive processes, improvements and performances with good metrics. Demonstrate leadership ability in depository receipts products, problem analysis, resolution, and people management by interfacing with internal counterparts and business partners to ensure knowledge transfer of best service practices. Strong risk and controls mindset.
Responsibilities:
Support in overseeing daily operations for multiple teams and unit supervisors and ensure teams meet performance and quality expectations.
Manage staff resource allocation while assisting with the development and oversight of the budget, ensure backups and cross training.
Resolve complex and highly variable issues with significant departmental impact.
Evaluate performance and make recommendations for training/development, hiring, terminations and other personnel actions.
Manage transformational projects, business analysis incl. business required documents, end to end testing and ensure successful implementation. Provide proactive solutions to manual processes.
Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining workflow standards.
Identify issues and implement strong controls to resolve audit, compliance items and build a robust risk and control environment, reduction in potential operational risks.
Knowledge of financial reconciliation processes including cash, stocks, sub custodian, common depositary and proactively manage these functions to avoid aging and escalations.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding the firm, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhere to set Standards, Policies and Procedures, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability to ensure standards are maintained.
Qualifications:
5-10 years of experience in a related senior level role with experience in Securities Operations and management
Proven experience in creating and implementing processes that result in improved business performance and sound risk and controls.
Effective verbal and written communication and analytical skills
Proven relevant Product Knowledge and Technical Expertise
Understanding of securities transaction life cycle, asset servicing, broker relationships.
Prefer knowledge about DTC, FRB, ICSD's, Crest, Euronext/Euroclear
People management experience
Education:
Bachelor's/University degree is preferred.
