Job Summary: SMCI is seeking a highly motivated and experienced VP of Technical Accounting, SEC Reporting and SOX Compliance to lead and oversee all aspects of our technical accounting, financial reporting, and internal control over financial reporting (SOX) functions. This critical role will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of our financial reporting while maintaining compliance with SEC regulations and SOX requirements .
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Technical Accounting: Stay abreast of emerging accounting pronouncements and assess their impact on SMCI's financial reporting. Research complex accounting issues, document conclusions, and implement new accounting standards. Provide technical accounting guidance and support to various departments within the organization. Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with US GAAP. Oversee the accounting for complex areas such as revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, leases, and business combinations. SEC Reporting: Own the preparation and timely filing of all SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other required reports. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements and disclosures in accordance with SEC regulations. Coordinate with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process. Monitor and analyze changes in SEC reporting requirements and implement necessary updates. Global SOX Compliance: Oversee the Company's SOX compliance program. Maintain and update the Company's internal control framework and risk assessments. Plan and execute SOX testing procedures to assess the effectiveness of internal controls. Identify control deficiencies, recommend and drive remediation plans. Collaborate with internal and external auditors on SOX compliance matters. Stay informed about updates to SOX requirements and leading practices. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA required. 15+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting regulations, and SOX requirements. Experience with complex accounting areas (revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, leases, etc.). Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with senior management and external auditors. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Salary Range 270,000.00 - 300,000.00 
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
