Walker Furniture is a progressive organization, seeking a motivated self-starter, to fill a key sales role at our Martin Luther King store. Successful candidates will join a winning team of retail professionals, committed to achieving their personal goals, through customer satisfaction.
This is a commissioned position with the primary responsibility being to provide a high level of customer service by demonstrating advanced product knowledge and building quality customer relationships which result in increased sales and repeat business.
You must be creative and hard working, with excellent people skills, some retail experience and be willing to learn. We offer ongoing training and a competitive compensation and benefits package.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Practices suggestive selling, offering related items and accessories, driving multiple-unit sales.
2. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of store products and services and uses this knowledge to build sales and enhance the level of customer service provided.
3. Properly executes all systems and point of sale procedures to ensure an efficient transaction.
4. Ability to communication effectively with customers, fellow associates, and managements.
5. Achieve minimum monthly sales goals
Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS 1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
2. Must be at least 18 years of age
3. Must read, write, and speak the English language sufficient to converse with the general public.
4. Experience working with computer systems, programs, and email
5. Ability to work productively and effectively under stressful working conditions such as tight time frames, heavy work loads, or conflicting demands.
6. Effective communication skills and ability to deal effectively with difficult customers or employees.
7. Must demonstrate initiative, the ability to think and take constructive criticism, work independently; and take the lead in forward-thinking, implementation of new ideas or work methods.
8. Ability to work a flexible schedule when necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Most all of the time is spent sitting, standing/walking or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
