About the Role & ProgramBe a part of an innovative team and culture that shares exciting Disney news with journalists around the world. In this one-of-a-kind role, you'll get immersed in all facets of PR – from media relations, content creation, and events to the business behind the magic – things like strategy, integrated communications, and showcasing success. You might help champion other new or soon-to-open experiences; and help sustain and promote other new or soon-to-open experiences. Expect more than your usual internship. This is outstanding stuff and a learning experience like no other!
What You Will DoHang on because every day is different. You could be out in the theme parks and resorts to assist with photo-video productions. Maybe it's a walkthrough for a new attraction or event. Then there are media visits to help plan and implement. You'll also be writing things like news releases, blog posts, and other materials. Or you could be tracking coverage and building a recap that goes to top executives. You could do that all in just one day!
Required Qualifications & SkillsConfirmed proficiency in speaking and writing in Spanish and/or Portuguese.Previous internship or other experience working in a PR-Communications environment.Reporting/writing/editing experience with a student or professional news outlet (broadcast or print-digital) or PR agency.Familiarity with the creative process for photography, video, and social content.Creative ideas that support PR strategy and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.Confidence and ability to engage with media – providing assets, pitching stories, and hosting events.Experience leading media coverage and crafting summary reports.Collaboration abilities.Familiarity with social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok and X.Proven understanding of Hispanic/Latin American celebrities, media, and heritage.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to build presentations in Canva, Keynote and/or PowerPoint.Preferred QualificationsPrevious Walt Disney World Resort work experience.Experience developing and implementing a PR plan.Ability to build compelling presentations that sell concepts and ideas.Graphic design expertise and capable of working with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or other design tools.EducationSeniors or recent graduate pursuing a bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Advertising, or other relevant area.Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at the time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.Materials RequiredA writing sample and a design sample are highly encouraged for this position. Eligibility Requirements & Program InformationMust be at least 18 years of age.Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.Possess unrestricted work authorization.Additional InformationBe compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines.Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship.This internship is a hybrid position - Must be able to provide a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace.The approximate dates of this internship are January 2025 through June 2025.Must be able to work FULL-TIME hours (approximately 40 per week) for the duration of the internship.Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work.
