About the OpportunityWe have three exciting opportunities to join Metcash as a Warehouse Manager.
These are newly created positions expanding our broader management team in our Canning Vale Distribution centre and will oversee the operations across each business function of perishables, liquor & convenience, and dry grocery goods.
The warehouse manager is responsible for the efficient and effective management of all warehouse operations including the storage and flow of goods from receiving through to dispatch, maintaining a safe environment, building an engaged team, and managing all costs associated with operating the relevant warehouse operations.
This position is required to contribute to the effectiveness and leadership of the Logistics Operations team, with a focus on continuous improvement, change management, culture and engagement, and safety.

About This RoleEnabling and maintaining an engaged, healthy, and safe team.Promote and cultivate our safety-first culture at Metcash.Ability to manage change and drive continuous improvement initiatives.Take ownership of cost centre management.Develop a group of supervisors ensuring continual growth in leadership and capability within the team.Succession planning for team members.Foster and maintain excellent customer relationships.Ensure on-the-job coaching and re-training is provided to team members.Ensure record performance and/or behavior conversations are documented.Building a culture of professional growth and development within your team.Conduct performance assessments with your team members.About YouStrong people leadership skills, building effective teams, leading change, and shifting culture.Warehouse management/supervisory experience leading a large team (min 5 years).Ability to thrive within a fast-paced environment such as FMCG (critical).Demonstrated experience driving continuous improvement initiatives.Experience managing a cost centre or P&L.Can drive engagement and grow your team of supervisors.Being adaptable and navigate a rapidly changing environment.Knowledge of OH&S practices, relevant transport legislation and HACCP requirements.Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (preferred).Life at MetcashExperience a supportive and flexible work environment.
