The West Fargo Park District is looking for responsible and friendly individuals to serve as Warming House Attendants for the winter season. If you enjoy working independently, interacting with the community, and keeping facilities safe and clean, this position is a great opportunity for you!
Position Overview
As a Warming House Attendant, you will be responsible for maintaining a welcoming and safe environment for guests at our warming houses. You'll handle opening and closing procedures, provide supervision, and ensure the facility remains clean and orderly. This seasonal position is ideal for students looking for flexible hours during the winter months.
Key Responsibilities
? Facility Operations: Open and close the warming house facility on schedule.
? Supervision and Safety: Oversee guests and maintain a safe environment, addressing any disciplinary issues and completing accident/injury report forms as necessary.
? Maintenance and Cleaning: Perform general cleaning and maintenance of the facility during your shift to keep it presentable and safe for all visitors.
? Weather Monitoring: Stay aware of weather conditions and respond accordingly, including shoveling sidewalks and entrances when needed.
Work Schedule
This position requires weekday evening shifts (4:00 pm–8:00 pm) and weekend shifts (12:00 pm–4:00 pm & 4:00 pm–8:00 pm) from December through the end of February. Hours are flexible, making this a great role for students.
Qualifications
? Age Requirement: Must be at least 16 years old.
? Independence: Comfortable working alone in the facility and managing closing procedures independently.
? Responsibility and Reliability: Strong sense of responsibility with the ability to enforce rules and maintain a safe environment for all guests.
? Physical Capability: Able to perform light maintenance tasks, including shoveling and cleaning as needed.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, and comfortable working alone in a community-centered environment. Prior experience in customer service or facility supervision is a plus but not required.
