Job Description: Play a pivotal role in designing and implementing user-friendly web interfaces to access and interact with the data in the knowledge base.
Developing responsive and intuitive web applications using the latest technologies, including React JS.
Collaborating with our team and providing leadership to integrate front-end interfaces with back-end databases and AI models.
Implementing data visualization tools to present complex scientific information in a clear and engaging manner.
Ensuring the security, scalability, and performance of web applications through best practices and optimization techniques.
Staying updated on the latest trends and technologies in web development and providing guidance on their implementation within the project.
Designs new systems, features, and tools. Solves complex problems and identifies opportunities for technical improvement and performance optimization. Reviews and tests code to ensure appropriate standards are met.
Acts as a technical consultant and resource for faculty research, teaching, and/or administrative projects.
Performs other related work as needed.
Preferred Qualifications Education: Bachelorâs or masterâs degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Experience with JavaScript based visualization frameworks, such as D3, cytoscape, or dojo.gfx.
Experience working with RESTful APIs and asynchronous JavaScript.
Experience with production deployment of the applications and infrastructure in proxied/firewalled environments.
Experience with scripting languages, such as Python or Perl.
Experience with search platforms, such as Apache Solr.
Experience with developing user interfaces for bioinformatics or biomedical projects is a plus.
Technical Skills or Knowledge: Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, with experience in React JS.
Strong understanding of web design principles and user experience best practices.
Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
Proficiency working in a Unix system environment.
Preferred Competencies Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
