The Website Designer is responsible for creating and implementing creative design elements while managing all of Lutheran Church of Hope's websites.
ResponsibilitiesUpdate, maintain and design all Lutheran Church of Hope websites in WordPress, including:Lutheranchurchofhope.orgHopewdm.orgHopeankeny.orgHope-elim.orgHopegrimes.orgHopeames.orgHopeiowacity.orgPastormikedrop.orgAnd additional sites that may be addedDesign all necessary graphic elements (using Adobe Creative Suite programs) and implement within website(s).Design unique website pages for special events and services, including but not limited to: Christmas, Easter, Vacation Bible School, and Taste of Hope.Maintain website standards and guidelines as they relate to content, ease of use, graphics and Hope's brand.Work with West Des Moines Communications Team, IT Team, and campus communications representatives to ensure timely, relevant and accurate information is being promoted on the website(s).Ensure ministries and campus pages are updated, and all webpages maintain a consistent Hope voice.Utilize Hope's database system (Ministry Platform) within the website(s) as needed.Personal ExpectationsWorships weekly at Lutheran Church of Hope.Strives to live a Christ-centered life, stemming from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.Possesses administrative qualities to interpret, inspire, and implement vision.Works well with others, maintaining positive and effective relationships and communication with church staff and ministries, volunteers, church members, and guests.Contributes to creating a positive work environment.Demonstrates honesty and integrity; respects confidentiality.Arrives on time and works consistently until the end of the scheduled workday/project.Takes advantage of professional growth opportunities related to his/her job.Works independently and with confidence demonstrating initiative and ability to work without close supervision.Demonstrates ability to grasp and adjust to new and changing situations.Skills, Education and ExperienceProficient in Adobe Creative Suite programs (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign).Prior WordPress management experience preferred but not required.A strong desire to learn, and the ability to learn new skills and platforms quickly and efficiently.Excellent project management skills.Ability to work within and support a team environment.Extremely strong organizational skills.Ability to foster creative ideas and concepts, with the vision to further the mission of Lutheran Church of Hope.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple design projects at once.Requirements: Bachelor's degree in graphic design, web design, or other related field, 2+ years of related work experience preferred.
Hours: Full time, 40 hours in office required, Monday-Friday.
Supervisor: Communications Project Manager.
Pay and Benefits: Commensurate with position & experience, based upon National Wage Survey(s) of Comparative Churches.
