This assignment posting is for an Agency Worker opportunity with Dotdash Meredith. The Agency Worker is paid by a staffing agency employer. Agency Workers will receive a W2 from the staffing agency reporting their earnings for tax purposes. The Weekend Social Media Editor helps run a variety of platforms and manages social media priorities 5 days a week. They sit in the newsroom and work closely with edit, video, PR, and other stakeholders to help distribute content and help serve our different audiences.They will also assist with occasional insights and analytics. Essential Job Functions | Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results 50% - Run social accounts including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter; Communicate with editorial team and newsroom to help prioritize daily content; Provide guidance on trending items across social, search, and other sources 20% - Brainstorm, workshop, and execute different social content ideas and activations—video series, campaigns, memes, etc. 15% - Collaborate with editorial teams to execute social activations around awards shows, tentpole events, and breaking news; Help with data pulls and analyze key metrics; Deploy news alerts and newsletters; execute sales asks 15% - Attend events for live social coverage, Instagram Stories, and more; Organize social takeovers and partnerships The ideal candidate should feel comfortable with producing and editing short-form video to craft compelling and entertaining video content as needed. Willingness to be on-camera is preferred but not a requirement. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements (All must be met to be considered) Education: Bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field or equivalent training and/or experience. Experience: 1-3 years of related experience working in a fast-paced, creative environment or media brand Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Savvy with social media—an avid user and observer of industry trendsVideo editing experienceStrong news judgmentFamiliarity with the PEOPLE brand, particularly on socialUnderstanding of SEO basic principlesExperience with social analytics and reportingImpeccable writing skills and attention to detailAvailability to work during special events, broadcasts, award shows% Travel Required (Approximate): 0% Location: Remote OR Los Angeles, CA Hours: 2PM - 10PM ET (11am-7pm PT), Saturday - Wednesday Pay rate: $35 per hour, 40 hours per week
