The Welding Training and Development Specialist is a key part of the T&D team and is responsible for facilitating training for Toyota Material Handling Associates utilizing a variety of delivery modes. In partnership with other Human Resources teams, functional department leaders and stakeholders, this position is responsible for identifying training and development needs and executing on initiatives to meet those needs; improving Associate engagement and performance while modeling Toyota Material Handling Core Values.
Essential Position Duties: Collaborate with various stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify training needs and develop plans tailored to meet those needsDetermine effective learning solutions and process to address development needsDevelop learning and development programs, training materials and other important tools Plan and direct welding training for new and current AssociatesSupport the facilitation of other manufacturing process training and courses delivered by the Training & Development teamConduct evaluations of participants to ensure understanding of the subject matter and make recommendations on process improvementsMaintain proficiency related to programs in which you are responsible forIdentify opportunities for process improvements supported by a clear plan for implementation and accountability Utilize the Learning Management System to promote and deliver content to Toyota's learnersCollaborate and consult with subject matter experts to determine effective learning solutions and process to address development needsDevelop and manage project plans and timelines to ensure high quality outcomes with minimal supervision or guidanceAssist with preparation of annual training budget; maintaining records and reports of expensesStay current with L&D Industry trends and best practices to elevate learning offeringsMaintain records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirementsAbility to work in a constant state of alertness and safe mannerAdditional duties as assignedEducation & Experience: A minimum of three years of learning and development, training or facilitation experience preferred Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in organizational learning and development, training or a related disciplineA minimum of 5 years of work experience in a MIG welding environment preferredExperience working in a TPS or lean manufacturing environment preferredKnowledge of welding diagrams, symbols and ability to read blueprintsAbility to take initiative, work independently, and be innovative and creativeStrong communication, presentation and public speaking skillsExperience utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS) to organize training schedules, monitor attendance and engage with participants preferred Ability to build positive relationships internally and externallyAbility to interpret and visualize data, and make recommendations to improve business processes based on analysisProficient with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Power Point, WordExperience designing instructional materials, programs and learning solutions preferredMust be a team-player who enjoys working in a collaborative work environmentStrong organizational skillsDetail orientedCommitment to lifelong learning and process improvementAbility to convey complex information in an understandable formatAbout Toyota Material Handling Let Toyota take your career to new heights.
