A Southern hospital is looking for a general neurosurgeon or a neurosurgeon with cranial interests to join its established, growing practice. As the leading neurosurgery program in the south-central location of the state, the hospital has the highest successful surgery rates and patient satisfaction in the area. The current team has a neurosurgeon that has been with the group for over ten years and has a well-established practice. He is happy to welcome a new partner; someone with experience is welcome, and he is also happy to provide mentorship to a new grad! He performs a wide array of procedures and enjoys a general neurosurgery practice.
The new partner can expect a case mix of 80-90% spine and 10% cranial; although, someone who wants a larger cranial practice can do so as the current partner is happy to hand over the cranial cases. Regarding cranial cases, someone can build a program with cranial emphasis. They currently perform surgery on approximately 60 cranial cases/year (tumors). This is beside patients that they observe and spine tumors. They are doing cranial and spinal radiosurgery, are in the process of getting a NICO system, have an Exoscope, doing endoscopic transsphenoidals and craniotomies with cortical and white matter mapping and sleep awake sleep craniotomy. They are not doing any complex skull base or CPA cases. These patients present via ER and clinic.
This is a Level III center that operates as a Level II.
The Medical Center is the first hospital in the state to offer robotic-assisted spinal surgery with ExcelsiusGPS.
