Executive Director, Washington Library Association (WA/Remote)The Washington Library Association (WLA) is seeking a full-time Executive Director.
WLA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a state chapter of the American Library Association.
With a membership of over 1,200 individuals and 40 institutions, WLA provides the leadership needed to develop, improve, and promote library services to all Washington residents.
The position is employed through Primary Source, an agency that works for libraries and library support organizations to provide training, events, strategic planning, operational management, and other projects and consultation.
Job ScopeWorking with a well-established and collaborative team, this position will be responsible for leading daily operations of WLA and implementing the policies and programs of the organization as established by WLA's Board of Directors.
Areas of responsibility include organizational governance, member management, financial management and sustainability, fundraising and grant-seeking, advocacy, and staff oversight.
While this is primarily a remote position, attendance at periodic on-site meetings and events will be required.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher, and/or equivalent relevant job experienceCurrent or imminent Washington State residencyExperience with libraries or library associationsExperience with grant writing and/or administrationDirect administrative and/or leadership experience, ideally 3+ yearsSkilled use of MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPointSkilled use of Google applications, such as Sheets, Forms, CalendarDemonstrated commitment to exceptional customer serviceGenuine appreciation for librariesStrong attention to detailHealthy sense of humorPreferred Qualifications Experience with association management softwareExperience with grant and/or fundraising softwareCompensation and Benefits $26-$30/hour DOEEmployer-supplemented health insurance, including dental and visionPaid vacation, holiday, and sick timePrimarily a remote positionPeriodic on-site meetings and eventsCompany culture values work/life balanceSmall NE Seattle office with free parking, near multiple bus linesOffice is open Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm; hours and start date are negotiableTo Apply
