JOB SUMMARY:
Writes standard operating procedures based on various input.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reads and interprets technical, training and procedural prose. Organizes and groups similar sections of prose. Rewrites prose as simple and straightforward text. Assembles sections of standard operating procedure consistent with established template.
Proofreads and corrects standard operating procedure for grammatical, typographical, and compositional errors adhering to formatting standards and guidelines.
Maintains paper and electronic files of all documentation.
Works directly with management to obtain, clarify, and gain approval for information within the training documentation.
Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university in English - Technical Writing and 1-3 Years experience in the procedure writing required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE:
3-5 Years experience in technical/procedure writing preferred.
