Description
General Job Summary: Contributes in the delivery of excellent orthopaedic care in a patient centered environment while focusing on their individual needs.
Essential Job Functions: Individuals in this position will work under limited supervision and must be able to exercise independent judgment and initiative while working under protocols established by orthopaedic Physicians.
Communicate and work well in the clinical environment with interaction with patients, fellow workers, physicians and others.
Provides compassionate support to patients in distress to allow for utmost dignity.
Maintain radiological quality assurance standards.
Adheres to the Radiologic Technologist scope of practice per federal/state laws.
Compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and safety standards of the organization.
Ensure certifications are current and up to date.
Transfer patients with ambulatory issues as needed.
Assists in patient personal hygiene needs as warranted.
Clerical duties such as, but not limited to, paperwork, orders and clinical documentation.
Protects patient, self, and other staff from radiation hazards.
Cleans, maintains, and makes minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining equipment repairs.
Maintains radiographic supplies, and orders as necessary.
Remain focused on patient interaction while maintaining a high volume of studies.
Maintain licenses and certificates as deemed necessary by governing state bodies.
Protect the radiologic license of the practice by following mandated requirements for patient care and positioning as well as equipment manipulation.
Perform ALARA protection for patients, visitors, employees and physicians of OrthoCincy.
Maintain records within the company Electronic Health Record System (EHR) as well as the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
Takes initiative in performing additional tasks that may be necessary or in the best interest of the practice.
Requirements
Education/Experience: Certified as a medical radiologic technologist as required by the state.
A Minimum of an Associate degree in Radiological Technology from an accredited Radiology Technology program.
CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred.
Other Requirements: Must be patient care oriented with a team environment focus.
Schedules will change as department needs change, including overtime and weekends.
Weekly travel between locations.

Work Environment: Radiological unit.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Standing and walking 90 % of the time.
Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics techniques when making necessary patient transfers and helping patients with walking, dressing, etc.
Must be able to remain focused and attentive without distractions (i.e.
personal devices).
There are occasions when kneeling, stooping, bending or reaching may be necessary.
Ability lift 50 pounds.
