Position: Facility Engineer
Salary: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00

We are seeking a Facility Engineer to join our team, ensuring our facility remains clean, safe, and fully operational so we can continue to serve our community effectively.
About the Job
As the Facility Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and efficient operation of the Reston YMCA branch. Your role is crucial in providing a welcoming and safe environment for our members, staff, and visitors. What you will do at the Y:
Housekeeping and Cleanliness:

Oversee daily cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a spotless and welcoming facility. This includes common areas, restrooms, locker rooms, and exercise spaces.
Safety and Compliance:

Ensure the facility adheres to all safety standards and regulations. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards promptly.
Equipment Operations:

Manage the operation and maintenance of all facility equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and fitness equipment.
Preventative Maintenance:

Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule to prolong the life of equipment and facility infrastructure.
Vendor Management:

Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and repairs, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
Inventory Management:

Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment. Ensure timely replenishment and proper storage.
Team Leadership:

Supervise and train housekeeping and maintenance staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence.
Emergency Response:

Respond to facility-related emergencies promptly and effectively to minimize disruption and ensure safety.
Who You Are:
Experienced Professional:

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in facility management, engineering, or related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility maintenance or engineering.
Technical Skills:

Proficient in the operation and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and fitness equipment. Certifications such as HVAC or CMRP are a plus. Acquire Pool Operators License within 90 days of employment.
Detail-Oriented:

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Problem Solver:

Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to address and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
Leader:

Effective leadership and supervisory skills, with experience managing a team preferred.
Customer Focused:

Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
Organized:

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
