The City of Willoughby Hills is accepting resumes for the position of Part-time Zoning Inspector. The Zoning Inspector assists the Zoning Administrator in effecting the proper administration of the City's Building, Planning and Zoning codes. This entails administration and enforcement of property maintenance, including but not limited to performing on-site inspections, preparing and issuing violation notices and coordination with property owners to resolve complaints and violations. Also, attendance at Mayor's Court hearings as needed, which occur on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday morning of each month. The Zoning inspector also prepares reports to the Planning & Zoning Commission and Architectural Board of Review (PC-ABR) and Board of Building and Zoning Appeals (BZA). These boards meet about twice a month in the evenings and shall be attended by the Zoning Inspector. The Zoning Inspector will report to the Building Administrator and Road Superintendent. The hourly pay range for this position is $23.00 to $28.00.
Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent. Applicant should possess strong verbal and interpersonal skills, excellent data entry skills and ability to operate typical office equipment, such as copiers, calculators and computers. Successful zoning experience in township, county or municipal government, or comparable experience preferred. Must have a valid State of Ohio driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility required.
