Zos Engineer

Position Overview: The Mainframe Software Installation Specialist is responsible for the installation of IBM and Independent Software Vendor (ISV) software on the mainframe, as well as installing client components in support of the mainframe software, including Windows client software.


Key Responsibilities:

Install IBM and ISV software on the mainframe.
Support the installation of client components related to mainframe software.
Ensure successful software functionality and performance through rigorous testing.
Skills Required: SMP/E Expertise:
Strong skills in Software Management Product/Engineering (SMP/E).
zOSMF Experience:
Familiarity with z/OS Management Facility (zOSMF) for software management.
Software Installation:
Experience with z/OS and ISV software installations.
Testing Proficiency:
Excellent testing skills, including designing tests to validate software functionality, robustness, and performance.
Scripting:
Knowledge of Ansible and scripting languages.
Assembler Skills:
Basic Assembler skills for user modifications and maintenance.
IBM Software Customization:
Basic knowledge and experience with IBM software and mainframe ISV software customization.
Attributes: Self-motivated individual with strong teamwork capabilities.
Outstanding researcher and investigator with an innovative mindset.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; candidates with less experience but demonstrating strong growth potential will also be considered.
