MKS Instruments is seeking an exceptional Electrical Engineer Co-op to join the team.
In this position, you will work alongside a team of experienced engineers to develop vacuum valve products and find innovative ways to solve customer problems.
Principal Responsibilities:
Participate in design and development of analog and digital electronic hardware used to control vacuum valves.Assist with design, debugging and board bring-up of analog and digital real-time embedded electronics for microprocessor-based control and communication hardware platform using combination of simulation, analysis, prototyping and testing.Participate in project activities, including DFMEA, design reviews, and creation of technical specifications.Perform FAs for customers, make a corrective action plan to mitigate design issues and/or work with vendors to resolve component quality issues.Evaluate the design to meet requirements factoring in performance, cost, reliability, and manufacturability.Communicate technical information effectively in both oral and written form.Required Skills:
Enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering or relevant majorsSolid fundamental knowledge and skills in electrical engineering.
Able to read and understand electrical schematics.
Proficient with multi-meter, oscilloscope, and other equipment for embedded systems development.
Good communication skills and a "hands on" approach to problem solving.
Ability to work with minimum supervision with strong sense of ownership and desire for excellence.
Solid fundamental knowledge and skills in electrical engineering.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
Physical Demand: Able to perform extensive standing, walking, climbing, and lifting.

Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly Pay Range: $24.00 to $28.00 per hour.
This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.
At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
Benefits: MKS offers a benefits package for interns/co-ops working at least 20 hours per week, including 11 paid holidays, sick time, and 15 paid vacation days accrued on a biweekly basis.
