Role Description:The Accounting Manager position is responsible for a wide range of finance duties, including but not limited to the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and project tracking, reporting, and invoicing. The Accounting Manager will contribute to meet essential financial requirements as an affiliate company of a multinational enterprise listed in the stock exchange market.
Hybrid Schedule:This is a full-time hybrid role located in Teaneck, NJ (3 days onsite- Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
Responsibilities:Completion for month-end, quarter-end, year-end closing & account reconciliation.Supervision for senior accountants and accountants (including review of their journal entries and reconciliations).Process improvement for any area in "record to report" and "purchase to pay".Creation, revision, deletion of chart of accounts, business unit.Supervision in process of daily JEs, FA, CIP, Credit Card, Bank transactions.Window with financial institutions, cash management, forecast, financial cost control.Approve payments for ACH, wire, and checks every week.Resolve any payment related issues.Work with the external financial auditor for interim and year-end financial audit.Perform self-assessment of JSOX for the responsible areas (GA and FA).Address issues relating to its responsible area with other departments' leaders or parent company based on direction from senior manager, escalation to senior controller to get support if necessary.Appropriate cash management.Other Skills and Abilities:Good understanding of accounting rules (especially IFRS) and ability to provide solutions to incorporate such ideas into real operations.Constructive communication skills to gain understanding and support from other departments to solve issues.Experience with JDE (ERP) is a plus.Experience with DIVA is a plus.Strong communication skills to work interdepartmentally.Exceptional mathematical skills to verify entries.Good critical-thinking skills to gather available data and make informed decisions.Excellent research skills to find all related information needed.Proficiency in accounting practices, software, spreadsheets, and entries.Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.Ability to work with other functions/other Nitto Group companies.Supervisory Responsibility:Supervise three positions (2 A/P and 1 Accounting Supervisor).
Education and/or Experience:Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred; Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar position and responsibilities or the equivalent combination of education and experience required.CPA is required.Physical Demands and/or Work Environment:(Typical physical demands and the work environment characteristics an employee must meet and encounter while performing the essential functions of the job.
