Cleveland University-Kansas City is accepting applications for an on-campus adjunct instructor to provide instruction within the emergency methods course.


ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Contributes to university collaborative planning and development processes. Exercises stewardship of university facilities, materials, and resources. Supports the recruitment and retention of students, faculty, and staff. Maintains and improves discipline specific and pedagogic currency and competency Pursues mastery of current and new instructional methodology. Recognizes and responds to the learning needs of diverse student populations. Demonstrates a thorough and accurate knowledge of the field or discipline. Guides the learning process toward achievement of curricular goals. Integrates innovative instructional techniques to enhance student learning and programmatic outcomes.M Maintains up to date course content and syllabi. Integrates innovative technology to enhance learning when appropriate. Recommends texts and supporting materials that enhance learning.
Assesses student progress to continuously improve teaching and learning. Maintain current and accurate records of student progress. Follows established expectations with regard to evaluation and reporting processes. Maintains knowledge current of laws and regulations that might affect policies and recommends necessary changes. Ensures duties are completed in compliance with all regulatory and policy standards. Maintain Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act guidelines. Participates in activities relating to university programs, courses, and governance. Supports community activities with impact on, or are impacted by, the university. Contributes to the growth and development of students, the university and the community. Communicates professionally using professional reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Maintains professional boundaries with student that protect the integrity of the faculty role. Performs additional tasks as needed and/or requested. Participates in functions and activities that advance the mission of the institution. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Currently certified (or eligible to obtain a license before beginning instruction) in good standing in the state of Kansas as an emergency medical technician (EMT), paramedic, or RN. Minimum of 3 years of EMT/paramedic or RN experience in the field on a trauma team, emergency department, ambulance crew, ICU or similar setting. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree. Experience teaching in post-secondary or professional education. American Heart Association CPR with BLS instructor level certification. Equal Opportunity Employer
