Requirements (Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification): Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities listed below. A high school diploma or general equivalency diploma required.
One year of experience as a bookkeeper / cashier or similar fiscal position preferred. A valid driver's license in the state of residence and proof of auto insurance upon hire and are to be maintained throughout employment. Job Duties (Summary): Answers phones greet guests and professionally represent River City as the first point of contact.
Processes purchase requests, purchase orders and bills for all agency funds.
Types, processes, copies and files a variety of reports, correspondence, memorandums, letters, and transcriptions; types from written/oral communications, draft or dictation equipment; proofreads the copy, makes any corrections and obtains signature or signs same when requested; maintains all necessary files regarding same. Ensure daily all office equipment is operational. Makes copies of all paperwork and distributes appropriately using inter-office mail and or postal system. Assists in sorting, weighing and affixing postage to all outgoing mail. Develops and maintains filing systems for the River City Correctional Center. Maintains an ample supply of forms utilized by the various departments. Creates any report forms used/needed by staff in performing job duties. Assists in the maintenance of supply inventory.
Reconciles any statement to purchase order to ensure goods received match goods ordered.
May sign for delivery of office supplies.
Forwards all paperwork to the Business Office. Gathers and compiles required statistical information and prepares reports with same. May be required to take notes at any meeting regarding River City Correctional Center. Types and distributes minutes to appropriate persons when necessary. Supplements other clerical support staff as needed. Understands and adheres to policies and procedural requirements of the River City Correctional Center. Assist as needed in processing payroll in Paycor Services resident escrow and program accounts while maintaining careful documentation. Collects, processes and/or distributes receipts, invoices, packing slips, and other documentation. Operates with computers, printers adding machines, faxes, copiers and other technology; performs data entry and query tasks on computer. Maintains daily, monthly, yearly and other on-going records of all transactions. Prepares reports and other documents necessary as directed for function of department. Assists all agency staff with questions and work as relates to departmental functions. Maintains strict confidentiality with respect to information obtained and processed in the operation of the facility. Assists in tracking usage and maintaining inventory control mechanisms. May audit and close resident program files. Assist balancing all accounts as required Assist in ACA and DRC fiscal reporting and audit documentation

Ability to reach into file drawers in standard filing cabinets. Visual ability sufficient to effectively operate office equipment; to read small print and prepare financial reports, correspondence and instructions. Visual ability to read, prepare reports and complete forms. Hearing ability sufficient to hold conversation with other individuals both in person and by telephone. Speaking ability sufficient to communicate effectively with other individuals in person and by telephone. Ability to remain calm in tense situations. Working Conditions:
Minimum security correctional center setting; moderate noise.
