Legal Aid of Western Missouri seeks an Administrative Assistant for our new office in Independence, Missouri.
The administrative assistant's primary roles are to support a small team of attorneys and paralegals on a wide range of legal issues affecting Legal Aid clients; conduct in-person and telephone intake for the Independence office and support intake staff in other Legal Aid offices; handle administrative tasks related to the office's facilities and supplies; and other duties as assigned.
This position will support both urban and rural counties and may occasionally require some daytime travel within Legal Aid's service area.
The position requires in-office presence Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (30 hours per week), but a full-time schedule is negotiable, if desired.
Spanish language fluency is preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirements: The person is this position needs to occasionally move about the inside of the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
and stand or sit stationary position much of the time.
The qualified candidate must have the following:
Excellent typing ability Excellent spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills Microsoft Word proficiency Excellent customer service skills Legal experience preferred, but not required.
Pay: $20.51/hour + DOE
