The Assistant Director Security Systems provides expert support on access control, video surveillance, alarms, and security network operations.
This role assists the Senior Director of Security with the system design, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing support of all related security systems across the Montefiore Health System (MHS).
Maintain a detailed knowledge of current technology and security systems implemented in MHS.
Knowledge on installing and troubleshooting all security systems, such as access control, video surveillance, alarms, infant protection, visitor management.
Assist Senior Director in the ongoing development and implementation of security and electronic systems.
Coordinate new installs, repairs, and maintenance of equipment for MHS.
Troubleshoot system-related problems, liaise with vendors for support, and contact IT for hardware and network-related issues.
Work directly with Locksmiths, including security-related door hardware.
Collaborate with Project Managers to scope, design, and ensure completion of security projects.
Stay abreast of new and emerging technologies that may benefit MHS, providing recommendations to security leadership.
Direct and oversee the replacement of outdated equipment.
Communicate with department heads to coordinate upgrades and installations.
Manage spreadsheets for all security systems equipment.
Travel within the MHS network as needed.
Oversee security associates performing technical work, installations, and repairs on systems.
Must be flexible to work overtime in case of emergencies. This position is an essential role and will be required to work varying hours and during inclement weather and emergencies.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred)5 years of experienceBuilding Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI) Certification preferred.Association for Information and Communication Technology Professionals preferred.Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred.Physical Security Professional (PSP) preferred.Knowledge of installing and troubleshooting security systems, including access control, video surveillance, alarms, infant protection, and visitor management systems.Basic skills in maintenance repairs and technical troubleshooting.Proficiency in computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, Outlook, calendar, email, and database software.Basic understanding of building blueprints and technical specifications.Valid driver's license.Ability to work independently or as part of a team and follow oral or written instructions.Department: Security
