Chevron is accepting online applications for theAssociate Commercial Specialistposition throughApril 4th, 2024,at11:59 p.m.The Chevron Shipping Company Demurrage Analyst position is responsible to track potential demurrage claims, gather supporting claim documentation, calculate laytime and negotiate final demurrage settlements. The demurrage analyst is a subject matter expert providing commercial feedback and Identifying trends as they relate to demurrage for both Shipping Commercial and Supply & Trading. Demurrage analystsare often required toprovide analytical review of commercial performance and exposure to refineries and terminals.Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:Manage assigned demurrage claims, properly auditing and conducting data analysis in support of the trading organization.Track potential demurrage claims.Gather supporting claim documentation.Calculate lay time and negotiate final demurrage settlements.?Grasps the commercial aspects and implications of demurrage claims handling and keepingaccuraterecords of claim amounts andcounterparties.Possesses a keen business sense, able to analyze and apply commercial understanding to support thecustomer.Report the status of demurrage negotiations to traders and/or the Risk DepartmentWork closely with Finance/Accounting to ensure efficient processing of demurrage payables and proper billing of receivables.Responsible for reviewing contracts and providing feedback on the potential demurrageexposure.Builds andmaintainsprofessional relationships with internal and external clients.Analyzes demurrage trends to understand business updates andadvisesthe trading group in ways to minimize future risk.Develop ad-hoc metrics when needed.Required Qualifications:B.S.Experience withanalyzingdataand reportingoutGood analytical skills and able to analyze large data and create metrics.Strong critical thinker and problem solver.Knowledge and exposure tocontract interpretationHas a good understanding of the oil and shipping industry, keydriversand players as they relate to demurrage.Understandcommercial aspects and implications of demurrage claimshandling.Successful multitasker and can perform under pressure and strict timelines.Communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing.Excellent negotiation skills and ability to create strong relationships.Hastrained or worked in a marine commercial set up or similar.Preferred Qualifications:B.S.
