Position Details (What will you be doing?) In this role, you will report to the Head of Legal and provide reliable daily support by reviewing, drafting, and negotiating all types of commercial agreements. You will also oversee the administration, execution, and company adoption of our contract management system and related contracting policies and procedures, as well as our corporate insurance policies. The successful candidate will be an experienced attorney who can think on their feet and adapt to changing business conditions, spot issues quickly, provide practical guidance to business stakeholders on risk versus reward, and prioritize substance over form.
The specific skills sought for this position are:
Ability to own the entire contracts management process, from intake to completion, for stakeholders throughout the organization.Can independently draft, revise, negotiate, interpret, and administer commercial agreements on behalf of company leaders, including MSAs, VSAs, NDAs, software agreements, marketing contracts, and any other similar agreement the business needs.Works as a true business partner- providing advice and counsel to colleagues throughout the organization on areas of risk, legal obligations, and best practices.Provides sound guidance to business stakeholders to help manage positive partnerships and vendor relationships, while working collaboratively to optimize business terms in favor of the company.Can provide cross-functional contracts administration training sessions to new team members and senior leadership, to ensure alignment with the contracts management process.Ability to review, revise, and approve all policies and procedures relating to our contracts management process.Is a great teammate who has an open line of communication with the rest of the legal team.Manages, collaborates with, and provides guidance to our Contracts Administrator.Can manage a portfolio of insurance policies, including active participation in the renewal and renegotiation of such policies.Education & Experience (What education and experience will you need to be successful?) Juris Doctorate from an accredited school of law.Licensed to practice law and an active member of a state bar, with no negative disciplinary record.At least five years of experience reviewing, negotiating, and driving commercial contracts to execution.Experience working with contract management software required, Ironclad CMS preferred.Experience working with a technology company in a high-growth environment.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (What knowledge, skills and abilities will you need to be successful?) Ability to learn the business quickly- positioning yourself to provide better counsel by understanding the strengths and weaknesses of the company's position on a given issue.Must be a team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.Be responsive and provide timely updates to business colleagues as appropriate.Strong attention to detail.Must possess knowledge of federal and state contract laws and regulations.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an ever-changing environment.Business Travel (How much will you travel?) We don't anticipate anything more than occasional travel for this role.
Location: Remote
Compensation range: $170,000 - $190,000 + Bonus and Equity
