Responsibilities
PJT Partners is seeking to hire a highly skilled attorney to join our global Legal team.
This role requires an individual who (i) is comfortable working within a fast-paced and energetic environment, (ii) possesses strong interpersonal skills, and (iii) is a consummate team player.
This individual will work closely with, and advise each of, the PJT Partners business groups, with a focus on our Strategic Advisory and Capital Markets businesses, as well as our Corporate functions and the senior management of PJT Partners on various legal matters.
This is a great opportunity for someone who can work independently and as part of a team.
Primary responsibilities include:
Negotiating and drafting client engagement letters, non-disclosure agreements and related client agreements; Providing legal support to our Strategic Advisory business in connection with our role as a financial advisor for Mergers & Acquisitions and Capital Markets transactions, including advising on fairness opinions and valuation materials, proxy disclosures, regulatory filings and other transaction-related matters; Providing legal support for the Corporate functions on various firm-wide initiatives, including the review of non-disclosure agreements and third-party vendor agreements; and Working closely with our Compliance team on regulatory matters across our various businesses.
Qualifications
PJT Partners seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.
In addition, qualified candidates will possess the following: 5-8 years in the practice of law; Experience at a law firm or internal counsel at a financial institution; M&A Investment Banking and Capital markets experience preferred; Strong negotiation skills; Strong analytical, prioritization and organization skills; Excellent interpersonal skills.
Expected annualized base salary of $150,000 to $210,000.
This range represents the low and high ends of the expected annualized base salary for this position.
The specific base salary received by any employee will be informed by a number of factors, including but not limited to, role level and scope, location, candidate's relevant qualifications, skills and experience.
Base salary is one component of PJT Partners' compensation structure.
In addition to base salary, PJT Partners' compensation structure may include additional rewards, incentives and benefits, including but not limited to, a discretionary bonus component.
