Associate Pastor of Worship & DiscipleshipHope Kingsburg (CA), a family-oriented church of 60-80 people, is seeking a new full-time Associate Pastor of Worship & Discipleship. This role is a pastoral position, whose primary responsibility is to provide dynamic leadership and strategic oversight to the worship and discipleship ministries of Hope Kingsburg.
Job DescriptionWorship Responsibilities Work with the worship ministry team to coordinate and direct weekly worship gatherings.Develop structures and strategies, in partnership with the Lead Pastor, to enhance the Sunday morning worship experience.Lead volunteer teams (band, tech, ushers, etc.) to develop ministry health, while seeking to recruit and develop additional volunteers to serve with joy.Work with the Lead Pastor and worship ministry team in big picture/strategic planning.Maintain oversight of A/V, lights & presentation software (including slides and lyrics).Incorporate a balance of contemporary and traditional worship elements.Work with the discipleship team to develop vision and direction of discipleship ministry across all ages & stages of life.Serve as primary lead while developing volunteers to lead kids & youth classes/groups.Support current adult Sunday School classes and small groups, and recruit and train potential leaders to launch new classes and small groups.Assist the Lead Pastor in discipling through new member & spiritual formation classes.Pastoral Responsibilities Be willing to preach (approximately 4-6 times per year).Assist with congregational care and visitation as appropriate.Pursue ongoing professional/personal development (networking with other pastors, Denominational cohorts, professional coaching, etc.).Attend all scheduled staff/ministry team meetings.Job Skills & Requirements Exhibit a strong Christian character that demonstrates a close relationship with God and a commitment to pastoring and serving the community of Hope Kingsburg.Possess strong organizational & administrative gifts and skills.Demonstrate a willingness and ability to lead, inspire and encourage others to build a culture of unity within a team environment.Experience in leading worship both vocally and musically with guitar and/or keyboard with an ability to lead a church community from the stage.Knowledge of and ability to train others in A/V, lighting, presentation hardware and software.Be in alignment with the doctrine, mission and vision of Hope Kingsburg and the Mennonite Brethren Confession of Faith.
