Associate Professor

The Department of Justice Studies invites applications for a nine-month, tenured Associate Professor position to begin Fall 2025. While the area of specialization is open for this search, the College of Juvenile Justice anticipates starting a Master of Public Policy program. Therefore, preference will be given to applicants who have a substantive strength in public policy, justice policy, social policy, etc. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Juvenile Justice, Public Policy, or a closely related field. Applicants with only a J.D. degree will not be considered.
Responsibilities:Engage in research and maintain an active record of scholarship through publications and presentations in areas related to public policy.Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and evaluate student learning outcomes to inform teaching practices and curriculum improvements.Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current in the field and improve teaching skills.Collaborate with colleagues to coordinate course offerings and contribute to program development and improvement.Mentor doctoral students and participate in institutional service roles including department, college, and university committees.
