Automation Support Technician Objective
The primary purpose to react in a timely manner to daily automation issues in the warehouse to maximize production uptime.
The position will recognize problems and alarms on computerized monitoring systems for the Shuttles, ASRS cranes and conveyor equipment and answer radio calls from the logistics team.
Entry level position for automation maintenancesupport and works independently with minimal supervision.
ResponsibilitiesAnswer radio calls from logistics team and respond in a timely manner.
Daily use of SCADA systems, HMI's, GUIs, and WMS to correct daily automation issues in the warehouse.
Will correct daily automation issues in the warehouse that doesn't require hand or power tools unless exceptions are given by the team lead or team coordinator.Example would be clearing a jammed tote or pallet.
Will constantly perform area checks in the warehouse which consists of listening or observing for faulty equipment Diagnose/investigate reoccurring automation issues and report to coordinator or CMMS Assist the technicians with beginner level tasks Document parts and repairs as needed on Daily Communication Report and share information with relevant parties Continue to build knowledge and understanding of automation through training and observing upper-level technicians.
Will constantly check in with the internal customer (logistics team) to provide best experience and insure production uptime and efficiencies Communicate effectively to ensure continuity between maintenance personnel and Logistics team Ongoing training and increasing knowledge base of the WMS CMS Maintain a safe work environment, follow company health, safety housekeeping and environmental policies and procedures Daily use of CMMS (maintenance software) and Microsoft Outlook to document issues and communicated Perform inventory checks to verify spare parts are available Perform power tools inventory checks and add tools into KACE inventory software Assist ongoing improvement efforts in regard to equipment and maintenance Other miscellaneous tasks as this position grows and as assigned by management Qualifications Requires at least 2 years of electrical/mechanical experience Requires a degree in Mechatronics or similar (such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science) OR needs to be currently enrolled in school working toward completing a degree OR willing to enroll in a degree program or certificate program, if applicable Requires good customer service skills Requires Ability to prioritize and manage time appropriately Requires intermediate level skill with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
Requires Ability to navigate and use the Warehouse Management system effectively Requires understanding of how Logistics Processes flow together IE: receiving, replenish, picking, etc.
Requires basic understanding of HMIs Requires knowledge of safe practices for isolating, de-energizing locking and tagging out energy-intrinsic equipment and follows recognized procedures for shutdown in conjunction with Permit to Work systems.
Basic understanding of PLC control systems a plus Ability to utilize and interpret blueprints, manuals, electrical line and schematic drawings to determine work procedures a plus
