Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our Retirement team as anAssistant Vice President, Advanced Markets Compliance!
About the role
As an Assistant Vice President of Advanced Markets Compliance, you will provide strategic leadership, direction and management for Advanced Marketing in the Compliance Department, serving Symetra's Retirement Division multiple distribution field force. You'll leverage techniques, tools, methods and training on basic and complex advanced marketing concepts for multiple life insurance distribution channels, independent managing and producing general agents, broker dealers and financial institutions. Develops integral and critical relationships with the Symetra's compliance, sales and marketing teams. Works with minimal supervision and is responsible to independently make a broad range of decisions, escalating to executive-level associates only when appropriate.
What you will do
Research, analyze, evaluate and contribute to the development of new sales concepts, products and services, addressing needs of the advanced markets producer and their customer supporting Symetra's advanced marketing efforts in collaboration with the Law and Tax Departments.
Benchmarks competitor/peer companies' advanced marketing services and methodologies.
Provide technical expertise to compliance staff, sales management teams and Symetra's distribution representatives information concerning sales product opportunities, risks and challenges to advanced markets consumers.
Assess external advanced marketing software, materials and services for possible utilization by staff.
Develop internal and external financial professionals' and compliance professionals' working knowledge of distribution's products, illustration software and presentation techniques.
Maintain presence in the greater estate and business planning community.
Strengthen relationships with field forces serving clients in a prompt, professional style.
Encourage advanced marketing team to develop internal and external relationships and to provide accurate and timely service and support.
Develop and present advanced marketing training and sales materials at Symetra-sponsored or external business partners' meetings and seminars including all applicable travel.
Participate in product development process by providing feedback from working relationships with producers.
Provide information on product needs, product competition, computer needs, peer companies, market niche and other internal Symetra administrative services including underwriting and client service.

Compensation
$146,800 - $244,700/annually plus eligibility for annual bonus program
Who you are
Bachelor's degree required; Juris doctor degree preferred
At least 5 years experience in advanced markets in the life insurance/financial services industry or related retirement, business or estate planning experience
FINRA Series 7 license
Strong knowledge of annuity and life insurance product and industry knowledge including sales, marketing and operations
Executive-level proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel and Word
Demonstrated skills in organization, accuracy and attention to detail
