Our mission is to offer a safe, reliable, and enjoyable ferry experience for passengers transiting the Long Island Sound barrier.
BPPJ is seeking highly qualified individuals to serve as Bartenders.
Duties and responsibilities are outlined below:
Bartender Reports to:
The Bartender is directly responsible and accountable to the Beverage Supervisor on duty; and ultimately accountable to the Captain of the vessel while underway.
Supervises:
None
Description of Duties:
The Bartender operates the cash register, handles cash and mixes/serves drinks to patrons.
Collect money for drinks served and balance cash receipts
Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
Take beverage orders, serve wine, beer and other drinks.
Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
Clean bar, work areas and tables.
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
HS diploma or equivalent
Valid U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner's Credential
Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
Valid TWIC care or must have completed the enrollment process with TSA
Good communication skills
Physical Requirements:
Ability to communicate effectively with guest.
The physical evaluation guidelines for employment aboard BPPJ vessels are based on the United States Coast Guard NAVIC 04-08 "Medical and Physical Evaluation Guidelines for Merchant Mariner Credentials.

Salary:
$10.65 per hour + tips, $5.35
