Job Description

The Opportunity:

Mattel is seeking a Quality Engineer to join its Global Development and Product Supply Team. The position is located at Mattel's Fisher-Price Headquarters in East Aurora, NY. The applicant must be able to function in a fast-paced, product development environment.

What Your Impact Will Be:

Participate in concept / design reviews and provide input on safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction as related to new products
Interpret and communicate product regulatory requirements
Assess risks related to safety, quality, and legal issues
Manage product quality and safety issues across multiple products, and across international time zones
Issue product specifications for the performance, safety, and quality of new products
Review and comment on television and internet advertising
Analyze defects and identify root cause of quality and safety issues. Make recommendations and assist plants with corrective actions
Periodic travel to manufacturing and worldwide product development locations
Research and support of new business categories and innovative products
Drive and support the creation and updating of design/engineering/manufacturing standards using consumer insights and sound engineering as rationale

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Knowledge of Quality Assurance or Quality Management Systems preferred.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
1+ year of experience in a product development / product engineering environment, with an emphasis on consumer products
Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with people at all levels.
Knowledge of consumer product standards, with an emphasis on toys or children's products
Experimental design skills
Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
Knowledge of and experience with plastic molding processes
Strong analytical skills. Must be able to determine solutions, make sound judgments and carry out actions in effective manner.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize work without missing critical deadline.
Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.

The annual base salary range for this position is between $56,000 and $70,500.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience.
