Position Reports to: Managing Attorney, Family Law
Location: This position is based in Westchester County, New York in our Yonkers office.
Description and Responsibilities: We welcome qualified candidates to apply for this unique opportunity to provide high quality legal services to survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking in a holistic setting.
Assist attorneys on cases, including preparing and drafting pleadings, motions, judgments, financial statements, and other correspondencePrepare and review discovery demands, including disclosure statements, answers to interrogatories, and production requestsHandle routine communications and transactions with clients including scheduling callsProvide internal and external referrals to clientsTranslate legal documents and correspondenceMaintain client recordsScreen callers for eligibility and conduct intakesMaintain statistics and complete monthly and quarterly grant reports for fundersAssist the management team with administrative support and special projects, including research, developing presentations, advocacy initiativesAttend and participate in department staff meetings and ongoing trainingPerform other duties as assigned by supervisorParticipate in agency-wide and community events, initiatives and committees to help strengthen our organizational goalsWork collaboratively across departments, including Family Services, Counseling, Education and DevelopmentParticipate in Professional Development training opportunitiesProvide professional and confidential legal services to diverse populationsQualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experienceBilingual Spanish oral and written skills highly preferredFamily Law experience is a plusAbility to work independently, assess priorities, multi-task and meet deadlinesExcellent written and oral communication skillsProficiency with word processing, Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Outlook and database programsWilling to develop and conduct trainings for members of the legal center, agency and community partnersExcellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and to interact with management and program staffTeam Overview: MSP's Center for Legal Services meets the urgent needs of clients and their families by providing legal advice and representation in the areas of family and immigration law.

Salary: $50,000 - commensurate with experience.
