Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled BIM Technician to join our construction team.
The BIM Technician will be responsible for developing and managing Building Information Models (BIM) to support our active construction projects.
This role requires a strong understanding of the BIM process, the ability to create and manipulate 3D models, and collaboration with team members throughout the project.
The ideal candidate will have some experience in construction materials, processes and workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
Model Development: Create, manage, and update Building Information Models using Autodesk Revit Project Coordination: Compile various trade models into a composite and perform clash detection and coordination of all discipline models, creating and assigning issues to resolve conflicts in Revizto collaboration software Collaboration: Facilitate a collaborative project environment between all trades from the start of construction through the as-built process using Building Information Modeling.
Look for ways to improve the efficiency of subcontractors and the installation of their scope Documentation: Maintain current drawings, produce RFI sketches and oversee production of shop drawings by subcontractors Data Management: Organize and manage model data to ensure that information is accurate, consistent, and easily accessible to team members.
Laser Scan Integration: Import, process, and manage point cloud data generated from laser scans to produce highly accurate as-built models and geometries.
As-Built Modeling: Develop as-built models using laser scan data to ensure that project designs reflect the actual site conditions accurately.
Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to project teams on BIM-related tasks and workflows.
Standards Implementation: Assist in developing and implementing BIM standards, templates, and workflows for the organization.
Training: Train and mentor junior staff on BIM tools, processes, and best practices as required.
Qualifications: Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in BIM environments, particularly in the construction, architecture, or engineering sectors.
Experience with 3D modeling is essential.
Preferred Technical Skills: Proficiency in software such as Autodesk Revit, Revizto, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, BlueBeam Revu and cloud hosted coordination platforms Knowledge of BIM standards and industry best practices Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
Management / leadership skills Physical Demands:
This is a field and/or office position with work from the job-site and main office in Riverside will be required.
Involves walking, effective communication, listening, using hands to operate office equipment.
May require the use of exterior portable restroom.
Vision abilities required for computer work, reading, writing, typing, data entry and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee may be required to push, pull, lift and /or carry up to 20 pounds; attempt no greater weight without assistance.
The noise level in the work environment is an active open office.
