JOB DESCRIPTION
REPLACES:
SALARY: $33,406.00-$45,477.00 (or per the 2024-2025 Salary Schedule)
QUALIFICATIONS:
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Minimum of two (2) years bookkeeping experience.
* Or other appropriate certificates/licenses required by the District.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of federal, state and district rules, regulations and policies as they relate to job functions.
Knowledge of District accounting, human resources and payroll procedures.
Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and payroll functions.
Knowledge of accounting theory and practice.
Knowledge of and ability to use word processing, databases and spreadsheet applications.
Skill in the operation of standard up-to-date office equipment.
Skill in the use of business mathematics.
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize activities related to assignment.
Ability to carry out job responsibilities and handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
Ability to prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
Ability to answer a telephone in a professional and courteous manner.
Ability to work independently and make accurate judgments.

JOB GOAL
To prepare and maintain financial records and accounts in compliance with state law and District policy.
SUPERVISES:
N/A
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Service Delivery
* (1) Maintain all records and accounts as required by state law and School Board policy.
* (2) Assist in preparation of annual budget.
* (3) Prepare and disseminate purchase orders.
* (4) Verify and check-in all purchases on receipt.
* (5) Keep file on each budget line for current reconciliation/balances.
* (6) Maintain internal account records, reconcile bank statements and submit financial statements as scheduled.
* (7) Prepare internal accounts purchase and warehouse orders, write receipts for all monies, check in materials upon receipt and maintain updated budget for each teacher.
* (8) Make daily bank deposits.
* (9) Prepare payroll.
* (10) Prepare sign-in sheets.
* (11) Fill out employee leave forms and get required signatures from employees and substitutes.
* (12) Prepare temporary duty forms and reimbursement for travel forms for all employees.
* (13) Prepare worker's compensation forms.
* (14) Track student insurance enrollment.
* (15) Prepare grant-related purchase orders and maintain updated budget/balances.

* (27) Serve on School District committees as required or appropriate.
* (28) Serve as contact person for teachers regarding leaves and substitutes.
* (29) Take and distribute mail to/from County office and school, if assigned.

* (30) Exhibit interpersonal skills to work as an effective team member.
* (31) Follow federal and state laws as well as School Board policies, rules and regulations.
* (32) Demonstrate support for the School District and its goals and priorities.
* (33) Demonstrate initiative in identifying potential problems or opportunities for improvement.
* (34) Prepare all required reports and maintain all appropriate records.
* (35) Participate in cross-training activities as required.
(36) Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.
(37) Shall assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force and/or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan.
Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
