Employment Category/Status: Permanent, Full-time Location: 1010 Berlin Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034 Position Overview: KMA Consulting Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Bridge & Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing Bridge & Geotechnical Engineering Departments at our Cherry Hill, NJ office. The candidate will assist in the bridge & geotechnical designs for transportation engineering projects, both in the office and in the field. Candidates should have experience applying engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria for projects of varying size and complexity. Responsibilities include performing technical analyses/calculations, writing engineering reports, and conducting test boring inspections, in-situ testing, pavement core inspections, and field tests (FWD, DCP, etc.). Experience with NJDOT, PennDOT, NJTA, and NJ/PA counties or other MPOs is a plus.
Job Responsibilities: Prepare project reports, plans, designs, and calculationsPrepare project quantity and cost estimatesObtain geotechnical data/provide oversight of drilling and other geotechnical investigation/data gathering programs including logging of borings, test pits, and pavement coresCorrelate and interpret field and laboratory results for use in analysesWork closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projectsHelp check work of project team members including subconsultantsThe candidate must be able to work in a team environment, as well as independently, under direct supervision of a licensed professional engineerRequirements: Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university/programFamiliarity with CADD software platforms: Bentley MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3DFamiliarity with AASHTO LRFD design methodology and DOT design requirementsProficiency with Microsoft Office SuitePreferences: Master of Science in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical or Structural focus)Engineer in Training (EIT) CertificationProficiency with geotechnical and structural software (e.g. STAAD, RISA, CSIBridge, PennDOT Design Program Suite, APile, LPile, GRLWEAP, DeepEX, GROUP, SHAFT)Proficiency with Bentley MicroStationTravel: Occasional need to drive/travel to work sites (mostly day travel within NJ with the possibility for some overnight travel to adjoining states).
