Building Automation Project Manager

The Project Manager is primarily responsible for the development and implementation of project plans for multiple projects at any given time that result in the completion of projects at or below cost targets while meeting or exceeding goals for safety, completion time, and customer satisfaction. The project manager would manage installations of commercial HVAC equipment including chillers, packaged units, split systems, VRF, air handlers, boilers, pumping systems, cooling towers, starters/VFDs/controls, and more.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
• Management of budget, schedule, quality, and technical performance of assigned project(s)
• Strong written, verbal, and leadership skills
• Review design drawings, shop drawings, and notify field of changes/issues
• Ability to read, analyze, and understand design specifications, submittals, and contracts
• Create and maintain project schedules
• Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
• Communicate with mechanical/electrical/structural engineers
• Provide regular updates to the projects team and management on work performed, plans, budget, and overall status
• Manpower planning, scheduling, and training to ensure adequate availability of skilled labor to complete major projects within committed budget/time/scope for multiple projects
• Oversee and coordinate manpower on job sites
• Follow and enforce site safety requirements
• Identification and selection of subcontractors
• Coordinate purchase and delivery of material and equipment to job sites
• Implement risk management techniques
• Assist in developing project estimates
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree (engineering preferred) from four-year college/university or 2-year degree with additional HVAC experience
• Knowledge of HVAC and mechanical background, familiarity with HVAC design and installation
• Commitment to safety
• Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Project, Lotus Notes, etc.); AutoCAD skills are a bonus
• Capable of running projects within the five boroughs of New York City and Long Island 
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs
