Employment Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Position, Non-bargaining
Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Some nights and weekends required)
Salary: $48,000 per year (Position funded by a grant)
Reports to: School to Career Specialist
Position Summary:
The Career and Community Support Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting the School to Career Development and Family Engagement departments.
The specialist will assist with professional development for staff, coordinate events and field trips, manage social media engagement, and contribute to the planning and facilitation of focus groups and workshops.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Professional Development and Workshops: Assist in the facilitation of professional development sessions and workshops for staff and families. Coordinate logistics for district-wide professional learning events, including scheduling, location coordination, and equipment setup. Prepare and distribute materials and resources for these events. Social Media and Community Engagement: Assist with managing and enhancing the department's social media presence to engage staff, families, and the community. Draft and initiate correspondence and content for various platforms, ensuring alignment with district policies and standards. Event and Field Trip Coordination: Organize and coordinate field trips and events that support career development and community engagement initiatives. Manage logistics, including scheduling, transportation, permissions, and communication with relevant stakeholders. Administrative Support: Serve as a confidential executive assistant, managing calendars, schedules, and appointments for department heads. Handle telephone and in-person inquiries with professionalism, providing information or directing individuals to the appropriate parties. Assist in budget preparation by compiling expenditure estimates, organizing data, and tracking spending. Design, establish, and maintain both physical and digital departmental information systems using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Focus Groups and Content Development: Assist in the coordination, content development, and facilitation of focus groups related to career development and family engagement. Compile and analyze data from these sessions to inform department strategies. Office and Equipment Management: Operate office equipment and manage supplies, ensuring the efficient operation of the department. Act as a liaison for IT, office equipment, and facility needs, coordinating repairs and maintenance as needed. Required Skills and Qualifications: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with social media management and engagement strategies. Ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks simultaneously with attention to detail. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently Experience in coordinating events and managing logistics. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Basic mathematical skills for budgeting and financial tracking. Experience in the management of requisitions and purchase orders, ensuring accurate tracking and submission of payments. Physical ability to manage office supplies and equipment Working Conditions: Regularly required to move between locations within the school district. Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 10 pounds. Occasional evening or weekend work will be required for events or meetings. Additional Information:
This position is funded by a grant, and continued employment is contingent upon ongoing grant funding.
