Lake Regional Health System is looking for a dedicated, professional Certified Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory team.

Key Responsibilities: Receives patient specimens, verifies proper collection and specimen integrity, and prepares specimen for analysis or referral to reference laboratory.
Follows all collection procedures as written.
Obtain blood specimens from a variety of patient types and ages by appropriate methods to include venipuncture, finger stick, and heel stick.
May obtain Nasal or Nasopharyngeal or other specimens for testing.
May perform Theraputic Phlebotomy collection as well as Breath Alcohol Testing Strictly follows procedure for patient identification and the provision of information pertinent to the collection of a specimen.
Receives patient specimens, verify proper collection, orders requested procedure(s), perform all necessary documentation accurately.
Perform STAT and urgent and timed collections in the appropriate time frame.
Assist in keeping phlebotomy related policies and procedures current.
Assist in instructing staff members in new policies and procedures.
Notify laboratory manager and/or pathologist of unusual situations as appropriate.
Labels all specimens appropriately.
May assist with staffing multiple laboratory/collection sites as needed Qualifications: High School Diploma required or equivalent.
Annual influenza vaccine are required.
Looking for a team player with the willingness to take initiative to complete tasks.
Previous blood draw experience is strongly preferred.
This position handles blood and blood products throughout the hospital.
Must be a self-starter Additional certifications may be required for this position and will be coordinated by Lake Regional as a part of your ongoing training and development.
