Dress for Success Austin is seeking bright, dynamic, motivated interns to join our growing team of community helpers and local do-gooders in the Summer of 2022. Interning with Dress for Success Austin will give you an opportunity to connect with women+ as they arrive for career center and image consultations. You will be the first face they see, and have the opportunity to help curate a positive experience so that they leave feeling confident & empowered! This role will work directly with all stakeholders (staff, volunteers, interns, clients) to make sure daily operations run smoothly. Through office management, client relations & education, community building, data entry and much more, you will gain the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the ins-and outs of the nonprofit world.
This role will be required to be at our office in East Austin on Tuesdays/Thursdays between 10am-4pm. All additional hours can be fulfilled virtually. Responsibilities: Greet and check in clients for in person appointmentsAnswer phones, check messages, and return callsAssist with virtual & in-person appointment schedulingEducate clients about additional Dress for Success Austin programs and servicesBuild relationships with referral agencies and communicate our policies and procedures to caseworkersConduct outreach and follow-up calls to clients and determine if/what additional services are neededAssist with data entry and management Basic Requirements: Ability to work a minimum of 12 hours per weekMust be able to work from our office in East Austin on Tuesdays/Thursdays between 10:00am- 4:00pm Preferred Qualifications: Detailed planning, time management and organizational skillsPositive, proactive and ability to exercise great judgment and common senseSensitivity to diverse client backgroundsResourceful, as well as the ability to locate various resources for clientsAbility to work in a rapidly changing environmentCreative problem-solverPrevious work experience in nonprofits a plus
