Founded in 1946 by some of Houston's oldest and finest families, The Forest Club's guiding principle has always been to create a comfortable environment where friends and family can gather, dine, and enjoy recreational activities. A place where the staff knows your name and greets you warmly each visit. Today, Club members and their families continue to enjoy the congenial social atmosphere while utilizing the pool and fitness facilities, playing tennis, participating in special events, and dining on cuisine considered by many to be the best in Houston. As is the case with many of the finer clubs in the country, The Forest Club enjoys a wonderful sense of "community" that exemplifies the Club's focus on family and tradition.

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for developing, maintaining and managing all aspects of communications for The Forest Club (TFC) by promoting its programs, activities and standards by skillful marketing to current and future members, as well as to the community as a whole.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, manage, and implement an annual communications plan, in collaboration with the TFC management team that aligns with TFC goals, priorities and mission.
CREATES WOW by anticipating needs and wants, being prepared, being continuously enthusiastic, executing flawlessly and doing it now.
Creates, updates, and maintains all promotional materials (including but not limited to press releases, member communications, departmental communications, signage, etc.) related to TFC , whether in electronic or printed format.
Updates and maintains the TFC website and calendar to ensure its usefulness to current and potential members. Ensures that new and consistent information is posted expeditiously. Creates rich and creative content that is optimized for search engines.
Creates and transmits e-mail blasts for each department to provide a consistent message and brand.
Collaborates with the Director of Membership to create materials for prospective members.
Collaborates with the Director of Food and Beverage to create and update club dining menus and dining room promotions.
Drives attendance at Club events by distribution of all types of communications to current members.
Attends member events and takes photos/videos. Interacts with members at all events to determine the event's continued marketability.
Manage all current social media accounts as well as explores and develops additional opportunities for social media presence.
Manages development of any video or photography projects.
Responds to all phone calls, messages, inquiries, and e-mails regarding communications and marketing for The Forest Club.
Manages effectiveness of email marketing and website by read rates and site visit metrics.
Studies the Club Bylaws and House Rules and carries them forth as needed.
Addresses member and guest complaints and advises the General Manager about appropriate corrective actions taken.
Supports the General Manager/COO in all Club marketing, communication endeavors and all public relations activities and strategies.
Ensures the proper use of The Forest Club logos and branding on communication material, signs, merchandise, etc.
Other projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and publishing software (i.e., Microsoft Publisher, Adobe Suite, Photoshop, etc.).
Must be extremely organized, accurate, and have the creative ability to develop and execute a high quality/effective communications program.
Must be a self-starter and able to work without immediate supervision.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
Team player and project coordination experience.
Exceptional writing/editing skills
Sensitivity to confidential matters may be required
Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills.

Education/Training/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or any related field, from a four-year University.
Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a communications/marketing role.
