Pay: $80,000 depending on experience

MD Restoration is Hawaii's most comprehensive locally owned and operated disaster recovery firm that provides 24-hour water extraction, mold remediation, fire and smoke damage cleanup, asbestos abatement, carpet and upholstery cleaning and general contracting services. We're expanding and looking for the right candidate to fill our Construction Manager position.
Job Description:
The Construction Manager holds the responsibility of the entire construction division by scheduling all projects to meet deadlines while remaining within budget and producing quality workmanship. Due to the unpredictability and urgency of the restoration industry, the right candidate shall make themselves available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to adjust schedules and personnel when emergency projects are secured.
Specific Job Duties:
Studies job proposals and visits sites to ascertain length of project to schedule jobs efficiently and execute them within budget.
Responsible for finalizing and ordering materials to reduce or eliminate waste. Builds relationships with existing and new vendors to obtain the best pricing and service.
Works and schedules with subcontractors when required. Researches and builds relationships with new subcontractors to assist or take on projects in its entirety. Works to maintain relationships with existing subcontractors. Holds the subcontractor accountable for issues, errors or poor workmanship.
Provides daily updates to the company with job status. Works directly with the Project Manager and File Coordinator to resolve any issues that arise.
Communicates timeline of the project with the customer. Provides construction guidance on material selection, floor plan schematics and overall understanding of the project to the customer to ensure the final product meets or exceeds the clients' expectations.
Strong ability to write and form emails to document information with clients.
Works to adjust or implement new procedures to reduce inefficiencies.
Maintains technical knowledge of current safety compliances and implements into workflow.
Obtains necessary permits and/or works with architects or third-party review to follow building codes.
Able to use proprietary documentation and tracking software.
Understands and adheres to company policies and enforces it among all technicians under the construction division.
Completes employees' annual reviews.
Reviews, confirms and authorizes technician material purchases and timesheets.
Disciplines employees and submits documentation for incidents breaking company policy.
Skills & Qualifications:
5+ years of field experience in ground-up work with an emphasis in finish work in carpentry, flooring, cabinetry, drywall and painting.
5+ years experience with bidding, estimating and budgeting, with a comprehensive understanding of P&L sheets and profit margins.
Managed construction projects of $100k or greater from start to finish.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
Exceptional multi-tasking, organizational and communication skills.
Great attitude with great teamworking skills.
