JOB DESCRIPTION:
Primary Purpose: Lead all Bond Program construction operations from the date of board approves construction related expenses.
Together with Program Representatives, the Construction Manager facilitates the timely and efficient delivery of all bond program construction projects through occupancy and is responsible for all construction and facility turnover outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Construction Management:
* Communicate, and monitor project specific BPO metrics as related to construction operations.
* Communicate and monitor both short term and long-term project objectives.
* Oversee the efforts of Program Representatives as related to construction operations and hold Program Representatives accountable to the achievement of project specific metrics, deliverable execution, and objective outcomes.
* Facilitate weekly one on one (top 5) meetings with Program Representatives to ensure the that expectations and needs are adequately communicated.
* Facilitate monthly construction team meetings (Program Representatives, Scheduler, PMIS Coordinator) to review status of Issues, major Milestones and Slippage.
* Regularly attend OAC meetings to observe interactions between project team members and evaluate the effectiveness of Program Representatives.
* Regularly tour project sites and record observations for PMIS data collection and reporting
* Work closely with BPO Information Manager to ensure BPO, Extra Departmental, Board and Media reports are up to date and accurate.
* Execute operational decisions consistent with the interest of the school district at the project level.
* Work with BPO senior staff and BPO director to resolve and execute policy decisions.
* Identify and communicate project threats and opportunities appropriately and timely.
* Participate in BPO committees as assigned.
* Assist Program Representatives in their efforts to resolve issues prior to escalation.
* Monitor the progress of issues that have survived more than 15 days.
Elevate these issues to the Issues Resolution Specialist (IRS).
Safety:

Assist in maintaining safety standards in conformance with federal, state and insurance regulations.

Stop unsafe actions and eliminate safety hazards as they arise at each construction project site.

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Experience:
* 10 Years K-12 project management with industry related degree or 15 years of K-12 project management preferred
* 5 or more years as a team leader with direct reports preferred
* 2 or more years of K-12 administrative reporting preferred
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education/Certification:
* Bachelor's Degree in a construction-related program with 10+ years of K-12 construction project management experience or 15 years of K-12 construction project management experience preferred.
* Construction Operations Management experience preferred.

Lifting and carrying (under 45 pounds, intermittent), sitting, standing, walking (across all district campuses), climbing, stooping, kneeling, driving, reaching above shoulders, repetitive hand motions, hearing, speech, travel (daily in-district, occasional/out-of-district), chemical exposure, inside and outside, sunlight exposure, outside and inside, frequent prolonged and irregular hours.
Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all project sites.
Knowledge and situational awareness of construction site hazards is required.
